Site-specific performance made for the floors and walls of Queens Collective Riad, (Azbezt, derb el ferrane, Marrakech Medina) where I lived as a resident between Sep 2017 - Feb 2018. Over this time I spent many hours hand painting a replication of it's tiles on a piece of fabric which features in this performance.
Taking ‘house' as a state of mind, I embody the domestic and the domestic embodies me.
Sometimes I like to chill at home. Sometimes home likes to chill inside me until my stomach is frozen over and my limbs are stiff and heavy. The walls start to magnetise and the floor opens up spreading its inertia. I become the refrigerator, the washing machine, the pile of junk forgotten in the corner. I might stay here for the next hour or thousand years. Did you forget I was in here? I’ve been here a long time!
